What is Nola K?

Nola K is the brand named inspired from Aunty Nola Kreations after Aunty Nola. Aunty Nola is an inspiring individual who comes from humble beginnings. Aunty Nola was born and raised in the Kingdom of Tonga. Aunty Nola had a fun and loving personality a firm believer in being family oriented with the foundation of a religious background. Aunty Nola left the Kingdom of Tonga at a young age. She traveled the world and fell in Love with America. Throughout her time in America she became a resident and reside in the beautiful island of Oahu Hawaii. In the city of Honolulu is where Aunty Nola found and fell in love with her Eternal companion Johnny(Sione) Kava.

Aunty Nola always had a passion and gift with working with her hands. She enjoyed creating oil and fragrances from organic matter, sewing, hand making custom costumes ranging from Hawaiian costumes, Tahitian costumes, Tongan costumes, Samoan costumes, etc. To handmade florals and flower arrangements and so much more. Aunty Nola alway had a fun and welcoming personality. While always having a passion with working with her hands. Her true dedications came from enjoying watching others loving and embracing her work. As years passed Aunty Nola settled down and married Uncle Johnny and stated a family.

Due to a growing family, other demands and past responsibilities. Aunty Nola pushed her passion aside. She wasn’t able to work with her hands as frequent as she would have wanted. Throughout her marriage she supported her loving husband Johnny with his passion on building water features & creating work of art landscapes. Uncle Johnny was an Artiest in a landscaping aspect. Everyone loved his  work. Uncle Johnny’s water features were a master piece & specialty of his. Uncle Johnny has a his older brother(Siua) that shares similar passions and love with working with rocks & boulders.That can still be seen and admired today around the islands of Hawaii by the locals and those who visit the beautiful Hawaiian islands.

Aunty Nola was an asset while assisting Uncle Johnny’s in his growing success with his career. Unfortunately after years of hard work and dedications. While working and doing community services in the The Kingdom of Tonga. Aunty Nola and Uncle Johnny were aboard to what they thought would be a normal flight from Honolulu(HNL) to Tonga(TBU). Uncle Jonny had an unforgivable accident during the flight. As the aircraft was preparing to descend for landing to Tonga(TBU). While sitting next to Aunty Nola. Uncle Johnny swayed while he took his last breath and collapsed unto the aisles of the flying aircraft. As the time stoped and by the Grace of God there was a Doctor aboard the flight. With his dedication and assistant a heart beat was returned.

It was a devastating and traumatizing experience for Aunty Nola. Uncle Johnny suffered cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction(MI), comma and memory lost etc.  Once the aircraft landed they were rushed to the local hospital. God did not want Uncle Johnny at that moment. For the first two weeks Aunty Nola waited patiently. For Uncle Johnny to regained consciousness to get approved by the local doctors to fly back home to the States for further treatment and procedures. Due to the limited medical resources in Tonga. They were able to do so after he woke up shortly after.

Aunty Nola and Uncle Johnny fought hard to survived during this ordeal. As the years passed many loved ones near and far took their last breath and left nothing but cherished memories. During this unfortunate time Aunty Nola worked hard ensure Uncle Johnny regained his health, strength and motivation for a brighter future. Uncle Johnny worked hard and got most of his memories back. After being in their lowest states in their lives and many years of sacrifices, pain and suffering. Uncle Johnny was finally in the best state he has been in years. The year 2025 finally looked brighter for the pair.

During the beginning of 2025 Aunty Nola was finally able to spark a fire and passion with working with her hands again. Aunty Nola always had a passion for the nature beauty, art and culture of the Pacific islands. Throughout her life she had learned and experience many ways creating art from a culture standpoint to creating ideas from her passion and imagination. Aunty Nola has indulged herself in making master pieces. She enjoys working with natural ingredients to creating art work inspired from the nature island beauty of Hawaii and neighboring island throughout the other Pacific Ocean. Aunty Nola’s gifted and blessed hands and art work are a true monument of her life and unconditional love that she has for Uncle Johnny.

Sharing the story and passion of my mother and love she had for my dad.

Thank you mum for sacrificing your youth, time and energy in taking care of dad and caring for us kids. You always had to be strong and show harder exterior to survive. Passed as being mocked and misunderstood. Under all that hard exterior you had a heart as gold and a unmatched love for others.
